Editing is where the resolution problem really bites. The standard Qwen Image Edit pipeline resizes everything to about 1MP on the way out, no matter what you feed it; put a 12MP photo in and roughly 1000×1000 pixels come back. Renders and concept art are a special case. Hard edges and glazing reflections are exactly what smears at low resolution, and simple bicubic interpolation can’t bring them back.

Why do Qwen Image Edit outputs come back at 1MP?
The standard Edit pipeline, including the official ComfyUI node, resizes every image to about 1MP before processing, whatever the input size. A 12MP photo goes in, roughly 1000×1000 pixels come out. The model itself can handle much larger images; the cap sits in the tooling, and there’s no official fix yet. The two ways around it: community LoRAs and custom nodes if you self-host, or run the edit as-is and upscale the result here.
Can Qwen Image Edit upscale images?
Sort of. There’s no upscale function built in, but community LoRAs like the Upscale2K adapters let you prompt Edit-2509 or 2511 to enlarge a picture, typically landing around 2K. It works, with two catches: it re-diffuses the image, so details can shift, and it needs a self-hosted workflow with the VRAM to match. For a faithful enlargement with no setup, upload the image here instead.
What resolution does Qwen Image generate at?
The open models generate around 1.3–1.7MP depending on aspect ratio; 1:1 comes out at 1328×1328. Qwen Image 2.0 reaches 2048×2048, but only through paid APIs. No Qwen model has native upscaling, so anything bigger means an external pass.
Is this the official Qwen upscaler?
No. This tool is made by MyArchitectAI and has no connection to Alibaba, and there’s no official Qwen upscaler; the community fills the gap with LoRAs and ComfyUI nodes. Ours works on outputs from Qwen Image, Qwen Image Edit, or any other generator.
What upscaling model does this run?

How does this compare to the Qwen upscale LoRAs and ComfyUI workflows?
The community Upscale2K LoRAs for Edit-2509 and 2511 work well if you self-host, and they typically target around 2K output. LoRA-based upscaling re-diffuses the image, which can shift details; this stays faithful to the input.
Is it really free?
Your first upscale is free, full-resolution download included, with no account. Both 2x and 4x are available on that first use. After that you need a subscription. Most tools in this category make you sign up for credits before you see anything; here you can test the quality on your own image first.
Can I use upscaled images commercially?
From our side, yes. We claim no rights to anything you upload or download. The open Qwen Image models are Apache 2.0, which permits commercial use of outputs; images from the API-only Qwen Image 2.0 fall under Alibaba’s API terms, so check those for your case.
Does it work on renders from SketchUp, Revit, or Lumion?
Yes. It handles renders exported from SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, Enscape, or Twinmotion, plus Nano Banana, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion outputs. The page name aside, it isn’t limited to Midjourney images. Renders are actually one of the better use cases because hard geometry and glazing survive the process instead of getting softened.
